The Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes, in accordance with the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015, is seeking public comment on the Draft Local Planning Scheme No 6.

The intent of this review is to consolidate the existing operational Town Planning Schemes No 3 and 4 into one Local Planning Scheme No 6 (LPS6). This will update and streamline the day-to-day planning functions and controls at the local level.

The purpose of the Scheme review is to:
  • Zone land within the Scheme area for the purposes defined in the Scheme;
  • Show land which may be suitable for development through expansion of various settlements, where special scrutiny of proposed land uses and development must occur having regard to the Scheme objectives;
  • Control and guide land use and development; and
  • Set out procedures for the assessment and determination of development applications.
