Introduction of Monthly Question and Answer (Q&A) Meeting

At its meeting held on Thursday, 27 February 2025, the Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes Council amended its meeting schedule for 2025 and introduced a new Question and Answer (Q&A) Meeting.

The Shire is pleased to announce that the Q&A Meeting will take place on the third Wednesday of each month at 5:30 PM. This meeting is open to the public and provides an opportunity to ask questions regarding the agenda items for the upcoming Ordinary Council Meeting (OCM).

Key Details:

• The Q&A Meeting will be a forum for questions only; it will not be used for debates or decisions on agenda items.
• The primary aim of the meeting is to clarify and improve understanding of agenda items, benefiting both the public and Elected Members.
• Councillors will also have the opportunity to ask questions related to the agenda.
• The format of the meeting will mirror that of the OCM agenda, however, agenda items will not be moved, seconded, or decided upon during the Q&A session.
• Should any changes be necessary to reports based on questions or clarifications raised during the Q&A, these modifications will be made prior to the OCM. Updated reports will be issued for discussion at the next OCM.

This new initiative is designed to enhance transparency and ensure all stakeholders have a clear understanding of the matters under consideration by the Council. We encourage all members of the public to attend and actively participate in this important forum.

Agendas will be available for inspection at the Bridgetown Library during operating hours or on the Shire’s website https://www.bridgetown.wa.gov.au/council-meetings/, a minimum of three (3) days prior to the meetings.
