In June this year Bridgetown was officially declared an ‘RV Friendly Town’ and Greenbushes Pool an ‘RV Friendly Destination’ by The Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia (CMCA).
Bridgetown qualified as an RV Friendly Town by meeting the needs of self-contained RV travellers and satisfied key criteria including:
- Access to parking near a general shopping area
- Provision of appropriate low cost overnight parking for self-contained vehicles
- Access to potable water and a free dump point
For Bridgetown, joining the RV Friendly Town network will deliver direct benefits to the local business community. Bridgetown will be promoted to RV travellers across Australia through the CMCA club magazine The Wanderer, and through the CMCA website and social media. With the self-contained RV tourism market estimated to be worth more than $2.5 billion annually, Bridgetown is now well-positioned to access this lucrative tourism market.
Being an RV Friendly Town, Bridgetown has the opportunity to promote the region’s attractions and capture a part of this massive growth market. Through a combination of social media and word of mouth RV tourists will quickly let their fellow travellers know what a great place Bridgetown is to visit and experience what it is that makes this town unique.

Greenbushes Pool met the criteria as an RV Friendly Destination, by allowing short term overnight parking (72 hours) for motorhomes, campervans and caravans. The destination includes toilet, picnic, barbecue and playground facilities in a scenic bushland setting overlooking the natural pool.
The CMCA will promote Greenbushes Pool and associated tourist attractions in its magazine The Wanderer and will also promote the Greenbushes Pool on the CMCA website.
Greenbushes Pool is officially declared an RV Friendly Destination. A sign will be erected upon entering the Greenbushes Pool camping entrance.
