Important Online Survey for Local Business – Visitor Centre & Jigsaw Gallery

We are continuing to work closely with the Bridgetown-Greenbushes Business and Tourism Association and the Bridgetown Community Resource Centre to explore the future management of the Visitor Centre and Brierley Jigsaw Gallery and how to best provide these services to visitors to our Shire.

Earlier in the year, we appointed consulting firm Economic Transitions to work closely with these two important stakeholders to develop a business case on outsourcing the delivery of visitor information services and the gallery. The Business Case will be a working document that the Shire and Council can reference in its decision making process, and will include the identification of any operating subsidy required by Council for viable options.  Additionally, for the CRC, the Business Case needs to be integrated with their existing Business Plan to assist in determining viability and cost of service delivery in all areas of their service provision, not just in relation to the Visitor Centre and Brierley Jigsaw Gallery.

Economic Transitions are also required to:

  • Identify the vision of the CRC and BGBTA with regard to the provision of services and the facility
  • Develop financial plan (5 year forecast) with operating and capital/maintenance costs
  • Undertake Market research to provide a snapshot of community and business expectations with regard to service provision in terms of visitor information and the gallery
  • Undertake a SWOT Analysis or equivalent
  • Undertake a Risk Assessment

Local business and tourism operators in the Shire are now invited to take part in a 5 minute survey to share your expectations regarding the provision of services for both the Visitor Centre and Brierley Jigsaw Gallery. This survey will complement the two community wide surveys undertaken in 2019 regarding the preferred location and management model for the provision of these services.  The survey closes on Friday 26 March and you can access it here.
