Our Emergency Services Team have had a big win being successful with the application of a 3-year Pilot programme from the Department of Fire and Emergency Services Mitigation Activity Fund (MAF) Grants Program.
A total of up to $722,524.00 over three years will be available to deliver treatments that:
- reduce bushfire risk to an identified asset within the vicinity of Bridgetown Greenbushes Shire,
- address extreme, very high and high bushfire risks with specific designed treatment programmes.
- is on land that is State owned and managed by the Local Government and Local Government land such as forest reserve, roadside verges, and reserves.
This Bushfire Mitigation work is essential as a preventative measure to keep you, our community, safe.
This bolsters and supports Shire (council) funded activities and continues the massive amount of work already being undertaken for many years.
With the particularly hot and dry season we have just had, with elevated high fire risks, the news of this funding is timely and gratefully received.
Congratulations to Ben, Bob and their team, thank you for the work you do to keep us all safe.
