The Shire has been successful in securing $2.2M of funding under the State Regional Road Safety Program (RRSP) for Maranup ford Road. The funds are for shoulder widening and sealing, and the installation of audible edge lines.
The program is part of a State Government initiative to reduce single vehicle run-off crashes on regional roads by applying treatments to create a more forgiving road environment and thereby reduce the risk and severity of crashes. The procurement stage of the project has begun with works expected to commence early in 2025.
