This year’s Community Christmas in the Park was held on the last day of the school year, Thursday 12th December. The wet ‘n wild slippery slide, manned by our Emergency Services team, was the most popular ride once again, with children (and a few adults too!) flying down the slide and sloshing into the bubbly water, with a few crashing into the haybales at the bottom and managing to knock a few over! Good thing we had our lifeguards on duty to help people up and fix the bale stack.
World-famous and ever-popular, Santa and his Elves made yet another grand entrance aboard the fire truck. Ringing his bell to announce his arrival, he was greeted by a long line of kids ready for their moment of fame with the big man himself. Santa spoke to each child one-by-one, listening to their stories and their wishes, and gifted everyone with a special little bag of treats.
Once their chat with Santa was done, everyone headed back to the slippery slide, the assortment of bouncy castles, or to get their face painted for the night. Attendees were also spoilt with a delicious sausage sizzle provided by the Bridgetown Lions Club and a free ice cream from the 'Soft n Scoop' ice-cream van.
We extend a huge thank you to all who attended and those who helped make the afternoon a great success – you know who you are!
We look forward to seeing you again next year.
