Trainer Profiles

After graduating from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Science degree I continued to expand my passion for movement, anatomy and human physiology by obtaining my Diploma of Remedial Massage, Certificate IV in Fitness, and Certificate IV in OH&S. I am also a qualified Yoga Teacher.

I have been working within the health and fitness industry since 1999 specialising in Fitness, Remedial Health and Injury Rehabilitation.

Recognizing that everyone’s movement is affected by muscular imbalance I have developed a Myofascial Alignment Technique to treat postural and bio-mechanical imbalances in order to resolve the causes, and not just treat the symptoms, of soft tissue injuries.

I have Tutored at Edith Cowan University in Principles of Exercise Programming and Sports Massage, and have over 20 years experience working in Remedial Therapy, Health and Fitness.

I am very passionate about teaching people that they can heal their own body and remove long term pain and injuries through remedial treatment and personalised Corrective Movement Training.

I currently offer Personal training at the BLC for:

  • Appraisals and Supervised gym sessions

  • Dedicated classes and options for Older Adults - Fit4 Life classes

  • Personal Training for: Strength, Fitness, Corrective exercise, Functional Movement

  • Bring a group of friends (Groups up to 4)

From an early age, I knew I wanted to work in the Fitness industry and dedicated my time to helping and supporting people to reach their full potential.

After school, I completed my certificate IV in fitness and jumped right into the industry, gaining more experience, knowledge and qualifications.

Over the last 12 years I've taught many styles of classes including,

Hiit, Circuit, Fitball, Aqua Aerobics, Boxing, Toddlers, Teenagers, Seniors, Zumba, Boot camp, and strength

I have helped countless people reach their fitness goals in my personal training sessions by gaining strength, losing weight, improving balance and flexibility, increasing power and agility. All whilst improving confidence and having fun.

I absolutely love my job and understand the importance of a quality trainer, that not only encourages and pushes you to the best of your ability, but also someone who understands the struggles and will always try and make exercise fun and exciting.

I currently offer :

  • A range of group fitness classes ( aqua aerobics, boxing, seniors circuit, fitball)
  • Personal training sessions
  • Appraisals and personalised programs (for any goal)

Meet Leena, Your Energetic Group Fitness Instructor!

From childhood weekend sports to competing in athletics, my love for movement has been an undeniable driving force encouraging me to enter into the fitness industry and attaining my Certificate III In Fitness.

You’ll find me leading my personal favourite styles of high energy group classes down on the courts. They include:

  • High-Intensity Interval Training
  • Strength training
  • ABT (Abs, Butts and Thighs)

As a trainer, my goal is to create a supportive community where everyone feels empowered and motivated to move their bodies regardless of their current fitness abilities.

While I’m not running classes, you can find me around the gym studying and undertaking my practicum  for my Certificate IV under the experienced mentors at the centre. This certificate will qualify me for Personal Training services in the near future.

My special interests in fitness lie within Women’s Health & Postnatal Exercise and returning to exercise safely and, Corrective Exercise. Once I have completed my Certificate IV, I look forward to furthering my education and building upon my knowledge in these fields.

From early adolescence I was involved in weekend sports and social sporting events. I found my love for the gym around 3 years ago and started focusing primarily on going consistently and working on my goals.

Throughout high school my passion for the gym and how the body works grew significantly. With my teacher’s guidance I began to study subjects and gain experience that could help me pursue my goals of becoming a fitness trainer. In year 12, whilst completing school, I attended TAFE for my Certificate III in fitness, completing this course in September of 2023.

After completing high school, I immediately applied for my certificate IV. I am in process of completing this at TAFE whilst also working at the leisure centre where I have begun taking classes to expand my knowledge and finding what styles I like.

Although I am young and still learning I am passionate about this industry and cannot wait to develop my knowledge, help people to reach their goals and create an atmosphere in my classes that is fun and caters for anyone of any fitness ability.
